Assitive Technology

How you do you think assistive technology would impact your classroom if you had children who needed the use of assistive technologies?

I think that assistive technology would make a great impact on my classroom if I had students with disabilities who needed the help of assistive technology. If I had students that could work just fine in a regular classroom with just the help from assistive technology, then it would give those students the chance to be in a classroom with other students his or her age instead of being separated by those disabilities that can easily be helped. It would give my students the chance to learn and grow even more.

Assistive technology is great to use in the classrooms. It helps engage the students so much. With the help of assistive technology, students with disabilities might have a chance to be in a regular classroom with kids their own age. I'm sure it is very difficult for those students with disabilities to be in a separate classroom than their friends.

I think assistive technology would greatly affect my classroom. I would openly allow AT to help students grow in their learning ability. Who am I as an educator to sit back and refuse a child the opportunity to grow in their education, when they have the chance to grow with their peers sitting at their fingertips.

I think assistive technology would effect my classroom greatly. It would be very beneficial to students with disabilities to be able to work in the same classroom as the other students instead of being taken off into another room to do their work. I saw that happen all the time when I was in Elementary school and it separates the children, it shouldn't have to be that way.

I think that it would really help students who needed it. It would probably help you as a teacher to be more efficient as well because you probably wouldn't have to spend as much time with those students because of the assistive technologies.

I think that assistive technology puts mainstreaming and inclussion into the classroom. I am not a proponent of this, so I think that they are used too much. In a special education classroom it is beneficial, but otherwise I am not for assistive technology.

I think I would be happy to help children to learn better with new technology. I think I would also be willing to find devices that would help me, too.

I think that assistive technology can have a major positive impact on the education of disabled young people. i work as a Para-educator on Mon-Wed-Fri and i see in many special ed rooms assistive technology making a valuable education possible for many children who otherwise may not be able to learn.

I think it's an amazing thing that we have such innovative technology now. Assistive technology can help those with disabilities to feel that they are a part of the classroom rather than different than the other students.

I think that all students should be able to have the same chances as everyone else. I think that this technology would be very helpful to teachers with students that have disabilities. Teaching them how to work with this can give them inspiration and hope in learning something new.

I think this technology would have a HUGE impact. It helps the students become more independent and able to work on their own if they have disabilities. It allows them to do activities that other students in the classroom are doing as well.

I think that assistive technology is great for students. It allows them to be in the classroom with the rest of the students and are able to learn to the best of their ability. All students deserve the chance to learn with a classroom.

I know assistive technologies would be used in my classroom a great deal of the time. I am a special ed. major and I feel like teachers should not be intimidated by the devices that children have to use. All teachers should educate themselves on the different technologies that they will need in the classroom as well as the devices that their students will use in the classroom. Assistive technologies are great because they help students grow to their full potential

I think assistive technology would be great to use in the classroom. It could help students understand what they are doing and how they should do it. It would also be a great time saver.

I think assistive technology would be a great thing to have in my classroom and would have a great impact on my students and me as a teacher. I had no idea the kinds of resources that were available for students with disabilities. I would love that there would be an equal opportunity for them to learn with the other students in the classroom.

I think that assistive technologies are a vital part of any classroom with a special needs student. As teachers, it is our responsibility to make sure students have every available resource to learn what we are asking of them. Therefore, we must be aware of all the technologies available & familiar with their functions and how to operate them ourselves to facilitate learning in our classroom.

I think assistive technology would be great use in the classroom. It would really help the students who need it. The students would be able to be in the classroom with other studnets and not have to be in a seperate room because of their disabilities.

I don't think that a student who needed to the use of assistive technologies should be treated differently than any other student, that all students deserve the same education.
If I had a student who needed assistance I would first of all make sure that student had everything they needed and help them perform to greatest extent possible.

I think that it could really help those students that need it. I think that as a teacher it would allow you more time because those students would not need one on one attention. This also gives those students the opertunity to be in a regular classroom.
